Que l'esprit de Noël soit avec vous aujourd'hui et tout au cours de la Nouvelle Année! Our Carramar Primary French Day is on Tuesday, 3rd November.
All students from Kindy to Year 6 are invited to dress up "à la mode française" or in "bleu, blanc, rouge" , French colours. We would love to have parents helpers on the day to help the Year 6 students running the workshops. The workshop topics are: SPORT, BRICOLAGE (Craft), JEUX DU VILLAGE (sideshow alley games), QUIZ and BON APPETIT (food). The workshops run from 11.30- 12.40 and 1.20-2.40. and parents can do one or both shifts. Merci! Perth's very first French Festival is on this Saturday.
Join the fun at Langley Park and check out the entries of the Art competition. Information about the Festival Many English words are borrowed from the French language. Our word of the week is one of those and in English you even pronounce the word (almost) like in French. To hear how the French pronounce the word you might want to listen to the song "Moustache" by the French group Twin Twin. Bonne fête des pères! Happy Father's Day. This week we are going to revise/introduce the month of the year. Looking at the word in French it is very obvious that French and English have many similarities. JANVIER, FEVRIER, MARS, AVRIL, MAI, JUIN, JUILLET, AOUT, SEPTEMBRE, OCTOBRE, NOVEMBRE, DECEMBRE Août stands out a bit, even though it shares a few letters with the word "August:, it's very differently pronounced- "huht"- sounding rater a bit like a grunting noise than the name of a month. Watch Juli Powers clip below to hear the French (or rather Franco-Canadien) pronunciation of the months. Bonne semaine! Perth à la carte is a new website where you will find all things French happening in Perth.
Perth à la carte is also the driving force behind the very first French Festival in Perth, Saturday, 24 October 2015
