French Explorers in Western Australia
Two exclusive exhibitions Thu 13 Sep 2018 – Sun 9 Dec 2018 9:30am – 5:00pm WA Maritime Museum, Fremantle The Education Perfect World Championships 21 - 31 May 2018.
St Stephen’s School will participate again in the Education Perfect Languages Championships this year. Students can earn points by correctly translating words seen in their French class and they can extend their vocabulary in French and even try out different languages. We have launched a competition between the 4 competing classes, may the best class win!!! The students can also individually win prizes and certificates and I challenge all students to try to reach at least 500 points to achieve their Credit Award. The Championships were very popular with our students last year, and I would like to ask you to support your child by cheering them on and allowing a bit of extra screen-time during the Championships. Merci! All our students from Year 5 and Year 6 are enrolled and use the same password/login as for their normal Education Perfect tasks. Access www.educationperfect.com or download the free Education Perfect App. Please note that Year 6 students are required to have the updated Education Perfect App on their device. The older version (Language Perfect) may be deleted. Login: SSSFirstLastname (eg SSSJeanPayot) (login is NOT case-sensitive) Password: firstname (eg jean) Bonne fête des mères à toutes les Mamans!
In week 10 Year 3-6 are introduced to the Poem in French class, auditions are held on the first week back in May and finals are in June at the AF in Nedlands. Click the button below for more information. Do you or a member of your family speak another language than English, and would be willing to share a few words with a group of students? You don’t need to be fluent in the language, just willing to share some facts about the language (Where is it spoken? Who speaks it? How did you learn it?) We just need you to share/teach basic words such as… Hello, Goodbye, Thank you, My name is…. and vocabulary for body parts (head, shoulders, knees, toes or feet, ears, eyes, eose, mouth) in your language. We will sing the “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” song together in different languages at our Assembly. Languages Day Date: Wednesday 9/8/2017 Time: 11.20-12.40pm If you would like to participate as a volunteer in celebrating our linguistic diversity at SSS Carramar, please return the form below to Primary Admin by Thursday 3 August. We look forward hearing from you and your help is very much appreciated! Madame Carniello and Miss Oliver
